Silcocks Farm Shop is the retail and processing operation of Honour Farm, run by David and Juliet Fenton and is situated in St Michael’s, close to Tenterden, Kent. It has been open since 2003, with a farm shop, café, butchery and seasonal events.
The farm is a Wealden grassland farm, managed using organic principles. As an integrated mixed livestock farm, there are pigs, sheep and cattle.
Honour Farm is home to the Boreisle Herd of Original Population Traditional Herefords.
https://boresisle-herefords.co.uk/the-herd/ David and Julia Fenton first started breeding Herefords in 1987 and decided to breed only Original Population Traditional Herefords, in 1990.
In June 2019, we visited Silcocks Farm Shop, for the first time, on an open day.
We bought great pork chops and explored the parts of the farm open to the public.
Besides tractor rides, children were to pet calves, while their fathers examined tractors.
Farmyards always always have old things from bygone farming days.
These old milk churns are quite popular now. At Wilton Emprium in Wiltshire, back in February 2019, there were churns for sale as stools, with leather-covered lids, for £50 each.

Silcocks remains open with social distancing measures in place. You can still buy their Boreisle and St Michael’s cheeses and ice cream, browse for organic and local veg, and use the café as a takeaway.
