FOODIE FIND: CHOLDERTON FARM SHOP AND CAFE

We visited Cholderton Farm Shop and Cafe in Wiltshire, in 2019, but weren’t able to get a blog post up reviewing it, before lockdown. Looking at the website, it seems open again https://www.choldertonfarmshop.co.uk/

Since visiting, we have become aware that Cholderton Farm Shop and Cafe is mentioned in The Extra Mile: Delicious Alternatives to Motorway Services, the book by Laura Collacott and Alastair Sawday, in the Sawday’s guides series.

The farm shop includes a chillled deli counter, with a range of cheeses. It’s also possible to order food and drinks from the menu and sit at tables inside the shop, or outside. There are chickens wandering about and tractors parked up to interest the kids.

The cafe has a friendly unhurried atmosphere, though service was prompt. It’s a quiet rural place in which to break a journey and let the kids run around, but please bear in mind that it is a working farm not a theme park. Relaxing, in sunshine.

Don’t know how old this farm building is, but it’s a beauty.

Cholderton Farm Shop and Cafe is situated on the Cholderton Estate, off Tidworth Road in Cholderton, Wiltshire. Postcode for satnav is SP4 0DR. Literally about 1 minute from the A303 -A338 junction.

Excellent food, tea and coffee and a good place to stock up on chutneys, jams etc if self-catering or as presents for foodies back home.
