Jean Brunet Terrine de Sanglier 180g contains 20% wild boar. The main ingredient is pork, from various parts of the pig, then pork liver and then, the wild boar. Other ingredients are salt, pepper and spices, No colours, no preservatives, no additives or artificial flavourings.
Jean Brunet has been around since 1895 and is situated at the foot of the Pyrenees, in Rabestens-de-Bigorre. There’s a website with English translation Pâté | Jean Brunet | Rabastens-de-Bigorre
Considering that the terrine has travelled from SW France to London, before being dispatched by French Click, 2.99 is not a bad price for a decent amount of terrine, without any of the nasty additives found in supermarket varieties.
It’s also a traditional meat product, entirely made in France and sealed in a glass jar, which can be recycled or repurposed in the kitchen.
It’s easy to spread, but it’s not entirely smooth, like a paste. There’s a definite hint of pork liver and the boar isn’t overpowering. Carbs would be pretty much zero or thereabouts.
